Muahaha, I may not be on the MSF mailing list anymore, but I still have the password to MSF xanga! I’ve only mentioned to a couple people about BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) intro class, so I want to take this opportunity to announce to all the mustard seeders. We usually have an intro class every first week of the month, but it seems that Bob (our intro teacher) has been addicted to offering more intro classes lately.

So, there will be another intro class next Tuesday (January 15, 2008), which basically means you’ll get to know what BSF is all about. Don’t feel pressured to commit once you’ve decided to come to intro class, although I sure hope some of you will decide to stick with it! This is the only young adult co-ed class in the area, and we meet on Tuesday nights at 7:30 sharp

More 411 here.

Just a heads up- there is weekly homework and BSF rules are quite strict. The upside to that is if you commit to completing your homework every week and participate in small group discussions and lecture, you’re bound to grow deeper in God’s words. Personally, I’m so glad I got plugged into BSF before school started back in September, because it really helped me commit to doing daily devos.

I understand some of you only come back to the area during the weekends or holidays, but there are others who stick around! There are those who have graduated and are working who might be able to join BSF as well!

I’ll stop here. If anyone is interested, please check out the website or talk to one of us who are in BSF (Eric, Jackso, Alain, Nathan, Jonathan, Rocio, Emily).

Have a blessed week, everyone!

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. -Matthew 11:29-30

PRAISE GOD!!

Hey everyone! i just wanted to spend a few minutes to share a praise with you guys! :) i have a great friend from Fullerton coming to the Thanksgiving dinner.  It's great cause she's been with me through thick and thin and when she found out that i was a Christian, she thought that i was kind of weird and in our own humor, she laughed and made fun of me.  She did express that she's spiritual but just doesn't believe in God.  She hasn't been to church for many many years and i don't know... it's weird cause i've never been the type to invite anyone to these special events? i've kinda been the person to invite to fellowship and stuff like that.  :) but God was like.. why don't you invite her to the dinner since you are hanging out her that day anyways? (we're going to watch a movie before the dinner).  and i expected her to laugh and say no but she was like... "sure why not? i can't turn down free food!" haha PRAISE GOD FOR FREE FOOD! haha i just pray that she will come with an open mind cause she's always making fun of me because i teach Sunday school and it makes me sound old or something.  She's one year older than me so it's awesome that she loves me that much to come. i think i'm very overwhelmed with God's power at the moment.. so if i don't make sense.. SORRY! it's just that i've been friends with her for two years already and we've been through so much, and if she does come to Christ, she'll be the first person i've lead to Christ.. so i am excited.. and just the fact that she is going, God just showed me that i AM capable or doing His will of bringing the lost to Him.  I've just always doubted myself about these things, that's why.. :) so anyways!! i'm just super ecstatic! i hope you guys will pray for her.. I'm asking that again because she's had a tough past and she's going through a tough time at the moment so please pray that we will be great people to her like we are to everyone! :D sorry.. that's me excited again.  alright see you guys saturday night!!!!

Christopher & Mary Love Part II

Greetings, my friends! Keep smilin'!

The following is a letter written by Mary Love to her husband, Christopher, the day before his execution:

"...I beg you not to think that your wife is now writing, rather, a friend. I hope you have freely given up on your wife and your children to God who has said, 'Leave your orphans; I will protect their lives. Your widows too can trust in me.' (Jeremiah 49:11). Your Maker, Christopher, will be my husband and the father to your children. Oh that the Lord will keep you from having one trouble thought about your family. I desire freely to give you up to your Father's hands, and not only to look upon it as a crown of glory for you to die for Christ, but as an honor for me to have a husband to leave for Christ. I dare not speak to you nor have a thought w/in my own heart of my unspeakable loss but wholly keep my eyes fixed on your inexpressible and inconceivable gain. You're leaving children, brothers, and sisters to go on to the Lord Jesus, your eldest Brother. You leave your friends on the earth to go to the enjoyment of the saints and angels and the spirit of just men made perfect in glory. You leave the earth for heaven in exchange of prison for palace. And if earthly affections should begin to arise, Christopher, I hope that a spirit of grace that's w/in you will quail them knowing that all the things here are but dross in comparison of those things that are above. I know you will keep your eyes fixed on the hope of glory which makes your feet trample on the loss of earth.

My dear, I know God has glory for you, but also for you...? but I am persuaded that He will sweeten the way for you to come to the enjoyment of it. When you're putting on your clothes tomorrow morning, oh think I am now putting on my wedding garment to go be w/ my everlasting Redeemer to be married. When the messenger of death comes to you to take you to the block, let him not seem dreadful to you, but look to him as a messenger that brings you tidings of eternal life. When you climb the scaffold, think as you told me you would, that you are climbing aboard the fiery chariot to carry you to your Father's house. And when you lay down your precious head to receive the Father's stroke, remember what you said to me, 'Though my head should be separated from my body, yet in that moment, my soul will be united w/ my Head, the Lord Jesus Christ in heaven. And though it might seem something bitter that I am leaving this life sooner than we had wanted, Mary, let us consider that it is the decree in the will of our heavenly Father, and it will not be long before we shall enjoy one another in heaven again.' Let us comfort one another w/ these things. Be comforted my dear heart, it is but a little stroke and you shall be there, where the weary shall be at rest and where the wicked shall seize from troubling us.

Remember, that you may eat dinner w/ the bitter herbs, but you shall have a sweet supper w/ Christ tomorrow night. My dear, by what I write to you, I do not intend to teach you, for all these comforts I received from the Lord by you teaching me. I will write no more, nor ever trouble you further, but commit you into the arms of God w/ whom you and I will forever be. Farewell, my dear. I shall never see your face until we both behold the face of the Lord Jesus at that great day."
